Yoga and Ayurveda are designed to work together to create greater peace and well-being in our lives. Yoga practiced with an Ayurvedic foundation initiates deep and lasting transformation. Ayurveda’s healing potential is greatly amplified by regular Yoga practice.
Central to the philosophy of Yoga and Ayurveda are the three prime qualities of nature, the mahagunas: sattva (balance and harmony), rajas (activity) and tamas (dullness and inertia). By consistently practicing Ayurveda and Yoga in an integrated way we can increase sattva in the body-mind, connect to our higher nature and find genuine joy and contentment.
In this workshop Myra Lewin, master yogini and Ayurvedic practitioner, will discuss how to apply the gunas to restore balance and deepen your Yoga practice.
The workshop will cover:
* How the gunas affect your mind and your consciousness.
* Working with sattva, rajas and tamas in your practice and everyday life.
* How Ayurveda and Yoga work together to initiate deep healing by increasing sattva in the mind and body.
* A sattvic sadhana practice of asana and meditation that will leave you feeling enlivened and refreshed.
